That Luang Festival

About This Project

That Luang Festival at dawn. This religious festival is held in and around That Luang, the national symbol of Laos. It is a three-day religious festival celebrated at full moon in November that starts with a wax castle procession at Wat Nong Bone and ends around the That Luang. The next day, there is a pre-dawn gathering of thousands of monks from Laos and Thailand. The festival finishes with a walk with candles inside the stupa and huge fireworks display.
